Pont Colombier de Veyrac

A 'Colombier' is a Dovecote. In the 17th century there were 40,000 Colombiers in France. This one at Veyrac is unique as it is built over a bridge and is now a national monument. The ledge around the dovecote allowed the pigeons to land and also acted as a barrier to rats.
