Here you can see a typical NOAA Satellite image. The borders are overlaid by the software so you can wee where you are on a cloudy winters day. Tho images are transmitted - one in visible light - the other in infra red. By combining them one can colourise the image. The infrared image allows night time images to reveal the temperature. Always interesting to see if the land or water are warmer! |
